PRE WAX TIPS

Never gotten waxed before? Been too damn long since your last appointment and forgot what to do? Check out these tips to make your waxing experience better.

AVOID ANY HARSH EXFOLIATION

If you are using enzymes, peels, AHAs, BHA, or retinol/ retinoid; Please stop using them 5-10 days before your appointment. Even if you have gotten waxed while using them, you can still potentially lift or burn during the service.

SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU ARE UNDER ANY INTENSE TREATMENT OR MEDICATIONS

It is best to get a complete clearance from your doctor if you are any treatment or medication that can compromise the skin. Please do not assume it is okay without asking your doctor first! I want to make sure your skin is in the healthiest state to avoid lifting, burning, irritation, or allergic reaction.

BIG INTO BOTOX?

If you frequently get botox or filler, you know that you want to avoid any unnecessary manipulation to the area. So please plan you wax before or a week or so after your injections.

TRACK YOUR CYCLE

Try your best to track your cycle to avoid any discomfort. You may still come in and get waxed. Just put in tampon, cup, or disc for the service. The cancellation policy will still stand if you decided to cancel.

SAVE THE LATTE, ALCOHOL, AND WEED FOR LATER

All of these can cause excess sensitivity before your service. Alcohol is pretty notorious for thinning the blood an worse case scenario you bruise after the wax. Weed and caffeine can cause heightened sensitivity and/ or anxiety. Definitely not great for waxing!

ORAL ACNE MEDICATION IS A STRICT NO-GO

Isotretinoin aka Accutane is the biggest  No-No when it comes to waxing. You have to be off of this medication for a year before getting serviced. Unfortunately I will not be able to take you if you are on it. No exceptions.
